P.O.S. - Audition

P.O.S. brings something interesting to the Minneapolis rap scene; a punk rock twist. Influenced mostly by his high school interest in punk, P.O.S.'s raps are usually accompanied with heavy guitar, and the occasional screamo hook. P.O.S. has incredible talent in both his lyrics and speed. Definitely check it out if you're looking for something to get you beyond the popular shit.

P.O.S. is also the frontman of Minneapolis collective Doomtree. Check them out too.

Doomtree - False Hopes

Had to post this after seeing the Dessa post below.

Doomtree is a rap collective out of Minneapolis. Contributing MC's include: Cecil Otter, P.O.S., Dessa, Mictlan and Sims. Contributing DJ's include: Paper Tiger, Lazerbeak, Marshall Larada, and Turbo Nemesis.

It's all dope. Check the show on the 19th at First Avenue. I know I'd be there if it weren't for a certain piano god.

Dessa - Mine Shaft

Dessa could pretty much be described as the first lady of local rap group Doomtree. An extemely talented poet & musician, Dessa's lyrics demonstrate wisdom well beyond her years. This single is particularly stunning.

For those of you not watching Atmosphere's "Paint it Gold" series on Rhymesayer Entertainment's youtube, this shit dropped today in an April Fool's Day joke.

"Paint it Gold" is Atmosphere's webisode series hyping their upcoming (April 22nd) album "When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold."
