Like the title suggests, this is a compilation of jazz. Pretty self-explanatory.
What I really enjoy is the variety of styles of jazz you hear in the mix. The first track is by A Bossa Electrica, which features a Brazilian vocalist and a little jazz flute solo. The second track has a bit of a funk influence, and is very percussion-driven and features a muted trumpet solo (with some delay!) and a pretty slick guitar solo. The third song has a strong lead saxophone part, with piano accompanimentis very laid back, while the main focus of track 4 is Miriam Aida, a female vocalist. Track five is by Gecko Turner, Spanish musician and singer-songwiter who incoporates elements of bossa nova, soul, funk, reggae, and jazz. Track six is a lively piece with a fun bass line, and big instrumentation. Seven features Sofia Petterson, with her silky smooth, soulful vocals.
Track eight is my current favorite. A five-piece from Sweden, Jet Set SWE bring a vibe of the late 60´s movies, with secret agents, sexy cars, and delicious orchestra arrangements!Track nine is a lively piece, with a swing feel, while the last track, number ten, is very laid back. A nice wrap-up.
