The Kooks formed at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music in England, where they were all students. (Like similar success story of the Columbia University students that make up Vampire Weekend!) They originally started as a college project and grew into a full-blown band.
This album was released in 2006 but it is still one of my all-time favorites. "She Moves in Her Own Way" is probably my favorite but "Naive" has also gained popularity on the charts.
Sidenote--Their next album "Konk" is scheduled to release tomorrow but naturally, it's already leaked. I'll post it in the future!
AND for you Minneapolisans--The Kooks will be playing the Fine Line Music Cafe on May 31st. Tickets range from $49-$218 which is pretty steep but probably worth it if you can make it!
