Van She - V [2008]
I seem to recall someone requested this like 3 months ago in the cbox.
V is the first studio album by Australian pop group Van She, released on August 9, 2008 by Modular Records. Writing a bulk of the songs from a small farm house in Sydney, in early 2007 the band packed for the UK, where they recorded the album with UK producer Jim Abbiss, whose previous work includes productions with Arctic Monkeys and Massive Attack.mediafire

Adele - 19
Adele is a young artist (born May 5, 1988) from England. 19 isher debut album, released on January 28, 2008, when she was (you guessed it) 19 years old. It debuted at number one on the UK charts on its first week. Included is a cover of the Bob Dylan song "Make You Feel My Love" from his 1997 album, Time Out Of Mind. She may be young, but she's experienced something not many other people have: track one, "Daydreamer", is about her bisexual ex-boyfriend running away with another man.

The A-B Theory - Illusions
The A-B Theory is an up-and-coming band from Dallas, TX that features electro style music with a Ben Gibbard-style voice by Jesse Smith.
The reason the album art looks so goofy is because:
1) it was taken from a photograph of the album
2) Jesse spray painted all the CD cases by hand

Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours
Haunted with machines of the past and sounds of the future, 'In Ghost Colours' inhabits the kind of space in time where trends are irrelevant and music is about feeling rather than following and 1969 is just as relevant as 2020. At once both electronic and organic, Cut Copy have crafted a record filled with glorious sounds and moods but also unabashedly pop song structures and hooks and melodies.

Eugene McGuinness - The Early Learnings Of Eugene McGuinness
Drowned In Sound just announced that Eugene McGuinness, the promising Liverpudlian singer/songwriter, is to open the DiS stage at Great Escape festival in Brighton & as I am going to this particular event it re-kindled my love for this, one of my favorite releases of last year. Eugene takes the stereotypical singer/songwriter formula and turns it on it's head with tongue in cheek lyrics, great roll of the tongue delivery and some sweet melodies which can both make one happy and energetic and one to pluck a heart string or two.
The mini album as it's put has absolutely no filler & is pretty much consistently great... the are allot of memorable moments here to make it one of my favourite albums of last year & I hope people check it out the below video is not to be taken as absolute judgement of this offering as allot of the tracks are much slower paced then this, though the are a couple more such as the brilliant 'High Score' and 'Child Lost In Tesco' which takes on a similar guise.

Gorillaz - G-sides
G-sides is a compilation of the B-sides from Gorillaz' first (and self-titled) album. Originally only released in Japan in 2002, these tracks got about as much buzz as the album. I know it's kind of old news, but they are must-haves if you consider yourself a Gorillaz connoisseur. So here is that:

Also, Pitchfork took the liberty of composing what they consider to be the ultimate album by substituting some of the best G-sides in for the weaker of the tracks off the self-titled album. If you would prefer just to have that, here you be:

Hercules & Love Affair - Hercules & Love Affair
The word electronica doesn't even begin to describe Hercules & Love Affair's 70's beats and smart use of horns. It can't be explained any better than this: "It is where beautiful, bruising harmonies and tensile rhythms collide in resurgent soundscapes and emotive Disco workouts". That's gotta make you curious, so you'll have to check out this New York-based electro-dance group for yourself!

Playradioplay! - Texas
PlayRadioPlay! is a one-man electronic/pop band from Aledo, Texas started by Daniel Hunter in December 2005. He began creating music in his garage, but it was not until he discovered Fruity Loops in a high school class that he began to create electronic based music. After rapidly gaining popularity on MySpace, Hunter signed with Island/Stolen Transmission midway through his senior year of high school.
Hunter makes his music with Reason, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and various other electric and acoustic instruments to create an upbeat, dancy, and lyrically simple style of music. He writes, performs, and records all of his own music. The sound can be compared to The Postal Service, hellogoodbye, and other electronic acts. PlayRadioPlay! released an EP entitled The Frequency on April 27, 2007, which debuted at #6 on the Billboard Electronic chart. This full-length album, Texas, is scheduled for release on March 18, 2008.

Ms. John Soda - No P. or D.
Ms. John Soda is an electropop band from Weilheim, Germany, with an obsession for robots. The band consists of two members, Stefanie Böhm (vocals), and Michael Acher (main composer and programmer).
No P. or D. can be enjoyed with as much or as little of the brain as desired. The thought-averse among you will be lulled into glorious insulin shock, allowing the girls' crisp, phonetic vocals and soothing tones to cascade and break over you, but the intricacy lying in wait cannot be ignored.

Aqualung - Still Life
Still Life is the second album by Aqualung, released in 2003 to critical acclaim. The album featured a more expansive, full band sound than the previous self-titled album.
My favorites include 'Brighter Than Sunshine' and 'Easier to Lie'. The singles certainly have a "radio appeal" (you can decide for yourself whether that is a good thing or a bad thing), but are both very well-written and -structured songs.
