The Ting Tings are an English indie/electronic band, consisting of two members: Jules De Martino (drums, vocals) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drum). The female vocalist trend is getting big now, but The Ting Tings bring a fresh sound.
The band was formed in 2006, and by January 2008 they were voted third in the annual BBC 6 Music poll of industry experts Sound of 2008, for acts to emerge in the coming year. They were the opening slot act on the 2008 Shockwaves NME Awards Tour, performing with The Cribs, Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong and Does It Offend You, Yeah?.

Capitol Jay - Strangers In My House
Capitol Jay, a seven part baroque pop/ alternative country band from Minneapolis, recently released there first full length album.
If you're a fan of Wilco, Arcade Fire, or Calexico then you'll no doubt enjoy this 7-part collective's first full length offering. The band tackles themes of loss, love, religion and insecurity over a thick layer of violin, cello, and electric bass complimented with electric guitars.
You probably haven't heard of them, but you should give them a chance none the less. The album is available for free on their site.

The Weepies Discography
The Weepies are an indie/pop/folk band fronted by singer-songwriters Deb Talan and Steve Tannen. Their music has been described as "subtly intoxicating folk-pop". Currently, Talan and Tannen are married and reside together in California.
The couple produces some amazing material. Their vocal harmonies are heavenly.
I'd recommend starting with their oldest album, Happiness, and listening in the order of release.

Sia - Some People Have Real Problems
Alternative pop singer from down under, Sia, released her latest LP, Some People Have Real Problems, in January of this year. It reached #26 on U.S. Billboard Top 200 Chart--and not without reason. This phenomenal, spunky album offers sassy, honest lyrics, melodic instrumentals and of course, her signature full, pure voice. Definitely my favorite of her releases, if not one of my favorite releases from 2008 thus far. Be sure to check out Academia, Soon We'll Be Found and Buttons, and ENJOY!

Juno OST (Music from the Motion Picture)
Juno, the latest hit movie on teen pregnancy, has swept the nation with its witty dialogue and touching story.
The soundtrack to the award-winning movie is just as interesting as the dialogue of the movie. The movie has a strange range of artists from Kimya Dawson with an instrumental piece, Buddy Holly with his Elvis-like swooning and Cat Power with a beautiful tune that would sound similar to if Dido and Enya did a piece together.
The album starts out with the same song that starts the movie out. “All I want is you” from Barry Louis Polisar has a folksy sound to it but is catchy with a side of cheesy lovey-dovey. What makes the album for me is the song “Anyone Else But You” from The Moldy Peaches. The lyrics are goofy with a hint of romantic and you can’t help but want to sing along. Ellen Page and Michael Cera also sing their own rendition of the song. Other contributing artists include The Velvet Underground, Antsy Pants, and The Kinks. The movie captured my heart and the soundtrack captured my ears.I can’t stop listening to the whole album, through and through. Enjoy!

I Was A Cub Scout - I Want You To Know That There Is Always Hope
I Was a Cub Scout was originally a one-man band, consisting solely of Todd Marriott. Lacking a drummer, Marriott used a drum machine. William Bowerman joined the band in mid 2006, and has played drums since.
The band spent about six months playing house parties and night clubs in England, which paid off, with their exposure gaining them popularity.
The songs are nice and "bouncy", with plenty of sing-along choruses.

Aqualung - Still Life
Still Life is the second album by Aqualung, released in 2003 to critical acclaim. The album featured a more expansive, full band sound than the previous self-titled album.
My favorites include 'Brighter Than Sunshine' and 'Easier to Lie'. The singles certainly have a "radio appeal" (you can decide for yourself whether that is a good thing or a bad thing), but are both very well-written and -structured songs.

GoodBooks - Control
Goodbooks' desire to ride against the current makes their debut album all the the more unusual, and all the more exciting. A four-piece from Kent, England with an average age of around 21, the band is making headway. Control may manage to sound like a sketchbook for a band unsure of its identity, but I'd rather have Control's genre-shifting variety over the current crop of top 40, three-chord trick bands any day of the week.
There is a canyon, through which the river of music should flow. On one side of the canyon there is a great verge of cheese, which is the smelly kind, in a bad way. This must be avoided. On the other side is a great verge of indeterminate obscurity. Elements of this obscurity are wonderful, yet as with the cheese, for a good river you need both sides. So, the river flows with the colour of creation. And at the same time there is inquisitiveness, a journey through all sorts of weird and wonderful sounds. The river eventually flows to the sea, whence cometh enlightenment/the meaning of life/a glimpse of the ultimate form of good.mediafire

+/- (aka Plus/Minus) - You Are Here
+/-, or Plus/Minus, is a three piece American "indietronic" band. The band makes use of both electronic and traditional instruments to record albums that are plump full of creative juices. Check out this music video to get a quick sample.
You Are Here is a diverse and captivating album. Links are below; if you like it, buy it.
