Dntel - Dumb Luck
Dntel, or James Scott Tamborello by birth, is an electronic music artist. He released his full-length album Life Is Full of Possibilities in 2001. The album featured several guest artists on vocals, guitars and other instruments. The most well-received song was the Ben Gibbard collaboration "(This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan", which led to a single in 2002, and later, the forming of the band The Postal Service with Gibbard.
Dumb Luck is Dntel's third, and most recent album. The sound of Dumb Luck is a less glitch-oriented and more electroacoustic sound than more of his earlier work, although electronics are still the primary sound in some songs. The tracklist is posted so you can see the featured artists.
1. "Dumb Luck"
2. "To a Fault" [ft. Grizzly Bear]
3. "I'd Like to Know" [ft. Lali Puna]
4. "Roll On" [ft. Jenny Lewis]
5. "The Distance" [ft. Arthur & Yu]
6. "Rock My Boat" [ft. Mia Doi Todd]
7. "Natural Resources" [ft. Andrew Broder of Fog]
8. "Breakfast in Bed" [ft. Conor Oberst]
9. "Dreams" [ft. Mystic Chords of Memory]

The Ting Tings - We Started Nothing
The Ting Tings are an English indie/electronic band, consisting of two members: Jules De Martino (drums, vocals) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drum). The female vocalist trend is getting big now, but The Ting Tings bring a fresh sound.
The band was formed in 2006, and by January 2008 they were voted third in the annual BBC 6 Music poll of industry experts Sound of 2008, for acts to emerge in the coming year. They were the opening slot act on the 2008 Shockwaves NME Awards Tour, performing with The Cribs, Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong and Does It Offend You, Yeah?.

Subtle - exitingARM
Subtle are considered by many to be one of the finest musicians currently active in music today & with good reason, all of their albums have been stone cold genius.... so with this heavy weight placed firmly on their shoulder how do this experimental hip hop group fair? Well the answer is quite simple in this case & that is, rather well indeed..... NO!... I was wrong they don't fair rather well, they fair better then RATHER well, they have put out the album of their career so far & I will tell you why this is & it comes in the words of 'FOCUS'. Sure the group are just as eclectic as ever and I never felt the need to criticise the groups focus before but on this album it just all makes sense more so then ever, it's not jarred at all & where as in their previous albums they would swing one way rapidly to another in the space of 3mins this album seems to have all the same elements but used more coherently and sparingly & it works brilliantly.
The album is as usual heavy and dense and produced brilliantly, the dense nature of the album means the is something to discover each & every listen.... the melodies within are hooky and very on the up but on first listen this may not seem the case, notes and drones dance and inter lay within one another & it's not until you listen to this album repeatedly will you even begin to get the patterns and see the true beauty, its pretty at first but now on my 6th listen I find this album all the more captivating & generally surprising... it's a hard thing to get right & I honestly thought it would lack the depth of the earlier albums due to it's surprisingly approachable first listen.
I have heard 'Third' by Portishead, 'April' by Sun Kil Moon & 'Alopecia' by Why? but for me I think this album out does them all and so far is the best album of the year & I would be very suprised if anything beats it.

Styrofoam - A Thousand Words
Styrofoams latest album features the same quirky layered production fans have already become familiar with but with the introduction of vocals into the mix making this album far more instant and flexible then any of his other previous works.

Lali Puna - I Thought I Was Over That: Rare, Remixed, and B-Sides
Lali Puna sounds like glitched-up version of Air. Plus, they have a sweet band name. And the little bunny is wearing headphones in the artwork. Its a grand slam.
Of note: This collection features a remix of "(This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan", a song by Dntel (Jimmy Tamborello), featuring the vocals and lyrics by Ben Gibbard. When the song was released, it was so well-received that the two collaborated on a full-length album, Give Up, which they released as The Postal Service in 2003.

Klaxons - Myths Of The Near Future
This album was released a little over a year ago and I still find myself turning to it every time I need a pick-me-up or a spur-of-the-moment dance party with the roomies (cough, Emily). You should prooooobably download it.
I'm a little bit obsessed with every song but "It's Not Over Yet" is particularly great for a dramatic interpretive dance session. If you're not down with your inner dancer you could always just go for a jog whilst playing this album too, that's cool.

Meat Beat Manifesto - Autoimmune
*many thanks to robin hood for his post on this album.
check out his blog.
Metropolis Recordsalbum: rapidsuck
Meat Beat Manifesto has been hailed as one of the front runners in the electronic music scene since 1987. Front man Jack Dangers has made sure over the years to keep from being categorized into a specific genre by continuously expanding his musical influences and overall direction of Meat Beat Manifesto. The first album, Storm The Studio, was immediately considered an industrial classic. Even with its success, Dangers refused to rest on his laurels and constantly evolved the Meat Beat sound with no two albums sounding exactly alike. Now after many years of silence, Meat Beat Manifesto is back! With this tenth album, Autoimmune, the seminal electronic band is pushing the musical boundaries even further than they’ve gone before. Focusing on the type of music he likes to create, mastermind Jack Dangers has created a tour de force of electronic genius which is sure to spark renewed interest in the dubstep and electronic music scenes.
