The Ting Tings are an English indie/electronic band, consisting of two members: Jules De Martino (drums, vocals) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drum). The female vocalist trend is getting big now, but The Ting Tings bring a fresh sound.
The band was formed in 2006, and by January 2008 they were voted third in the annual BBC 6 Music poll of industry experts Sound of 2008, for acts to emerge in the coming year. They were the opening slot act on the 2008 Shockwaves NME Awards Tour, performing with The Cribs, Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong and Does It Offend You, Yeah?.

¡Forward, Russia!

Formed in 2004, Leeds four-piece ¡Forward, Russia! are an art-indie band consisting of Tom Woodhead (vocals, synthesizer), Rob Canning (bass), Katie Nicholls (drums, vocals) and Katie’s brother Whiskas (guitar, vocals and synthesizer). Their sound is characterized by trebly guitars and abstract, cryptic lyrics. Up until 2007’s “Don’t Be A Doctor”, songs are named for the order they were written in. Their image is characterized by wearing identical t-shirts, with their exclamation mark emblem emblazoned on them.

Blood Red Shoes - Box of Secrets
this leak (to be released 14 april) has been going around for a while, but if you haven't heard box of secrets you absolutely must. they sound a bit like death from above with female vocals and less distortion, and their punk sensibilities thankfully override the stereotypical indie vibes that seem to consume most of the other bands out there now. put your dancing shoes on and listen to them with the volume turned way up. have fun :)
