edited: This is MGMT's demo release from 2005. Also check out Adam's post on MGMT's full length, Oracular Spectacular.
MGMT (formerly known as "the management") seems to pull from the oddest combination of genres. While at times MGMT has a playful 70's dance sound in songs like "Electric Feel", they move on to a much more classic rock, Rolling Stones-esque sound in songs like "Pieces of What." They can also throw something much more psychedelic in songs like "4th Dimensional Transition."

NO, not "pronounced management". It's pronounced M-G-M-T, the letters. Also their new album is Oracular Spectacular, not Oracle Spectacular.

asshat.
while i do admit that i made a typo when coding the hyperlink to the post on oracular spectacular (it has since been fixed), i think the rolling stone is a fairly reputable source.
Look guys, I know this is hard to believe, but Rolling Stone and a lot of other blogs/mags got it wrong a few months back and the mistake just steamrolled. If you don't believe me, go to MGMT's myspace page and email their (heh) management. They'll confirm this. Also, if you ever hear them live, that's how they introduce themselves. OR, go to youtube and watch the David Letterman clip for Time to Pretend or the Jools Holland clip for Pieces of What. Both hosts introduce them as M-G-M-T. You can trust me on this. I'm in a position to know.
convincing. well regardless, they're a fun new band with lots of potential.
