Hot Chip - Made in the Dark
The third full-length from British electronic band Hot Chip just keeps the ball rolling with their soulful dance music. The album easily moves from heavy dance and DJ influences, to a much more thoughtful and moving sound. The soothing vocals contrasted with the electronics in some of the tracks is absolutely incredible.
Let me just leave one lyrical gem:
I'm only going to heaven
if it feels like hell.
I'm only gong to heaven
if it tastes like caramel.
LIVE SHOW ALERT: Hot Chip will be playing First Avenue on April 18th, so go check it out. 18+, $15, doors at 8:00. This will surely be a tough choice between Yeasayer and Hot Chip.

Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend
The self-titled first album of NYC's Vampire Weekend is one sure to please.
Well, I don't have much to say besides the fact that I'm in love with it right now, and if you listen try to catch the African musical influence in the album. It's incredible how some bands can take something so unique and adapt it to a more popular and contemporary scene.

Juno OST (Music from the Motion Picture)
Juno, the latest hit movie on teen pregnancy, has swept the nation with its witty dialogue and touching story.
The soundtrack to the award-winning movie is just as interesting as the dialogue of the movie. The movie has a strange range of artists from Kimya Dawson with an instrumental piece, Buddy Holly with his Elvis-like swooning and Cat Power with a beautiful tune that would sound similar to if Dido and Enya did a piece together.
The album starts out with the same song that starts the movie out. “All I want is you” from Barry Louis Polisar has a folksy sound to it but is catchy with a side of cheesy lovey-dovey. What makes the album for me is the song “Anyone Else But You” from The Moldy Peaches. The lyrics are goofy with a hint of romantic and you can’t help but want to sing along. Ellen Page and Michael Cera also sing their own rendition of the song. Other contributing artists include The Velvet Underground, Antsy Pants, and The Kinks. The movie captured my heart and the soundtrack captured my ears.I can’t stop listening to the whole album, through and through. Enjoy!

Nothing I can say can give this album the credit it deserves.
(In other words there are very few albums that I feel so strongly about, this is without a doubt one of them.)
The track "Skinny Love" steals the show initially, but the others are equally possessive. A sample of the lyrics from "Skinny Love":

I Was A Cub Scout - I Want You To Know That There Is Always Hope
I Was a Cub Scout was originally a one-man band, consisting solely of Todd Marriott. Lacking a drummer, Marriott used a drum machine. William Bowerman joined the band in mid 2006, and has played drums since.
The band spent about six months playing house parties and night clubs in England, which paid off, with their exposure gaining them popularity.
The songs are nice and "bouncy", with plenty of sing-along choruses.

Colour Revolt - Plunder, Beg, and Curse
Colour Revolt has been gaining fans in recent years by touring with acts such as Brand New, Dinosaur Jr., Black Lips, Okkervil River, Explosions in the Sky, and Manchester Orchestra. Their album Plunder, Beg, and Curse will be released April 1st on Fat Possum Records.
However, the album recently became available for download at emusic.com, a great service for legally acquiring mp3's (at 192 kbps, with NO DRM PROTECTION!). Check out the website to read about their service, and the great offers they have for new users.

Nine Inch Nails presents Ghosts I - IV, a brand new 36 track instrumental collection available right now. Almost two hours of new music composed and recorded over an intense ten week period last fall, Ghosts I - IV sprawls Nine Inch Nails across a variety of new terrain.

Ghosts I-IV (also known as Halo 26) is the sixth studio album by Nine Inch Nails and was released on March 2, 2008. It contains 36 instrumental tracks and was recorded in ten weeks of autumn 2007. Initially intended to be a five-track EP, the album is presented in the form of four nine-track EPs. The tracks do not have names, and are only identified by their track listing and position on the EPs.This is one album I think people should purchase (if they like what they hear). It is only 5 bucks to get a high quality download of the entire album (in FLAC, Apple Lossless, or 320 Kbps MP3). What NIN is doing is important in the fight against the greedy music corporations and the outdated system of album sales.
The album's initial release on the official Nine Inch Nails website suffered problems as the website crashed upon the album's release, and was not fully operational until March 4, 2008 because, according to Trent Reznor, they added extra servers to handle the influx of downloaders. The album is also available for download on Amazon MP3. Each track from the downloaded album has its own album art. A 40 page PDF document of the album's liner notes was included with the official downloads. The PDF can also be requested for download at the official website. This is also Nine Inch Nails' first release as an independent band.

Saosin - Come Close
Alternative rock band Saosin performs live at the Theater of Living Arts in Philadelphia on this concert recording. The show was staged in November 2007, and features 15 tracks. The performance will be released as a CD/DVD combo on March 11th.
In an unusual twist, the credits of the album feature a list of Saosin fans, who have had their names immortalized in response to a text messaging contest staged by the band.
